Apple should update the iMac line next week, addition of new processor Intel and Thunderblot ports, according to AppleInsider. If rumors are correct, may 3 should be the day that the iMacs improved sale. The iMac line was the last update nine months previously.
The new iMac is reportedly introduce of new Intel chipsets based on the Sandy Bridge architecture, and switch port miniDisplay for a stroke of lightning high speed port. Other specifications are uncertain at this stage, as the amount of RAM and storage or graphics cards.
Most some addition to the new iMac are probably the ports of Thunderblot, which were introduced by Apple on the MacBook Pro line in February. Even if Apple was the first on the market, with high-speed data transfer ports of Thunderbolt, the technology behind it comes from Intel. Lightning can reach speeds of up to 10 GB transfer per second.
Electronista speculates that Apple is likely to increase options 1.5/2 terabyetes storage and bump the amount of RAM to 4 GB on top range models. Chat on the new iMac video camera was also able to obtain a spec bump to allow calls to FaceTime high resolution (as seen on the new MacBook Pros). What is unknown at this stage is whether Apple will make dramatic changes to the display size of iMacs, or adopt faster SSD disks, which are still very expensive.
