First iPad, iPhone 3GS Outselling Newer Android-Based products

Sales of older generation Apple products are beyond the latest Android-based devices, reveals new research.

A survey of Canaccord Genuity reported by AppleInsider shows that while the iPhone 4 is 'far' stores the device more sold to AT & T and Verizon, as the first generation iPad and iPhone 3GS still sell.

"Interestingly, our April audits indicated strong demand sustained for iPhone 3GS to AT & T and iPad 1 at Verizon, because these older generation products at a reduced price often rewarded Android news," Canaccord analyst Michael Walkley, has stated in a note to investors. "We believe that this highlights an important competitive advantage of Apple, and these former products help Apple offer a pricing strategy hierarchical channel key.".

Canaccord concluded that the iPhone 3GS, which is priced competitively at $49, outsells Android smartphones like HTC-based inspiration or the Motorola Atrix. Unsurprisingly, Walkley said also that the iPad is the most sold in the market shelf. In contrast, other tablets have been "modest sales," as a manual of BlackBerry of RIM, Motorola Xoom or the tab of the Samsung Galaxy.

It seems that other Tablet makers faced an uphill battle when it comes to competing with Apple. In fact, a recent DigiTimes report said that in flat sales of non-Apple tablets, many companies have to deal with the issue of surplus stocks of their devices. Apparently, the market has low demand of only 20 million units, while there are only asked for $ 20 million tablets this year.

Despite a decline in sales of Apple in the first quarter to 4.69 million units in the previous number of 7.33 units, Walkley was also noted that both 16 and 32 GB first-gen iPads sold within two weeks after the launch of the iPad 2.

However, Android still has a strong presence in the smartphone market. The latest figures from comScore showed Google mobile platform to be the most popular OS, in the country, with 31.2% of the market. RIM is sitting in second place with 30.4% of the space, and Apple is stable with about one quarter (24.7%) of the mobile market.

For the moment, it seems that Apple has benefited from the updating of the models of old generation of its popular products.
