Q and a: what's new with the Android Market

Just as Android itself, the Android Market has evolved considerably since Android was released in 2008. And the Conference of Google I/o last week, Google has added a few other new features that make it easier to find apps great.

Refresh my memory. What is the Android Market?

The Android Market is like App Store for the iPhone, except that it is rather for Android smartphones. It comes to phones running open-source operating system Google's Android, which you may recognize its mascot friendly green robot.

If the owners of iPhone shop the App Store, and Androiders boutique market?

Fundamentally. They do not have the same applications - the App Store has more games and more polished, apps kinda "wow this is pure", then the Android market has several applications that allow you to customize your smartphone, such as the replacement and keyboards home screens. You will find most of the applications of "big name" companies such as Amazon and eBay in two stores, however.

Gotcha. So what is new with the market? He seemed quite dull in 2008.

Yes, especially the site of the market. It was so basic, people had to turn to as Appbrain websites to search on their personal computer.

Redesign of the Web site of the market is much more pleasant to look at and easier to develop applications with. Not only each app entry has the same information that you can find app for your phone market, they also have banners bright, attractive, more links to things like YouTube videos. And market coverage has a carousel of featured apps, plus sections for featured tablet apps and most sold games.

NEAT! What did they add just in the last week?

First of all, the front page has obtained lists even more applications page. You can see the top free and paid apps, more the the top apps grossing non-English or those that make the most money. This last one is particularly important, because there are applications such as Audubon field guides (and games such as spectral souls that are spectacular, but who do not sell very many copies because they cost more regular apps). This new list makes it much easier to find amazing applications.

Secondly, Google has added a new "Editor's choice" section. It's quality particularly apps, selected by Google staff.

And thirdly, there is a new section for applications "trends", which are applications that many people begin to download all of a sudden (instead of the applications that have been popular for a long time). These applications are just now starting to become popular and by placing Google features that help you find the hottest new apps on the market.

NEAT! Is that all of fact Google?

Google is also added some features, it may take you more time to notice, as a maximum file size increased applications (up to 4 GB) and Amazon-style app recommendations. Maybe Google takes some cues from its competition?

How to start a check out the new Android apps?

Just, go to market.android.com and good luck! Obviously, you will need an Android phone to use the applications that you will find. But if you do not yet have one, don't worry - it is normal to shopping.
