Google is poised to implement a system of payment on Sprint phones using near field communication (NFC) technology, according to a report of.
Bloomberg said Tuesday that the service would be available on the Sprint Nexus through five different metropolitan areas of the United States: New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
Google has sent announcements to an event of news at 11 p.m. local time in New York of Google offices Thursday, announced as a partner even where Google will show its "innovations".
Google representatives could not immediately be reached for comment. NFC technology is reportedly also was used by the iPhone Apple 5. Three major US operators wireless have recently announced their support for a NFC payment system called Isis, which would leave the Americans to pay for the items in the store with their mobile phones instead of using physical credit cards.
Google Eric Schmidt, then the company Chief Executive, showed off the coast of NFC technology last November at the Summit of Web 2.0 in San Francisco, run the "Intolerance" of the Android operating system version.
NFC, or near field communications, is a way for two devices to communicate with small amounts of data when they are placed approximately four inches apart. Similar technologies are used to "mobile wallet" services, such as the Mobile Felica popular Japanese system, where a mobile phone stores encrypted credit card data, of transit information pass or retail sale coupons and can transmit to readers to stores or stations with a tap.
A way to watch the NFC is that it is as RFID, but intelligent on both sides. The RFID chips as those of credit cards Mastercard PayPass, Visa PayWave cards and maps of transit for the Clipper San Francisco are dumb chips that store data that can be read or modified by card readers. When you click on the chip on a drive, it performs a transaction. NFC it takes a little further with the RFID chip in something which can make its own computers, such as a mobile phone. If the phone itself can download coupons, for example and the coupon on the RFID chip before data is exploited.
More arbitrarily, a version of "Angry birds" will require NFC for the social set.
Bloomberg report is subsequently in a March report that claims that Google could begin testing technology NFC in San Francisco and New York. Google will pick up the tab to have custom systems VeriFone systems installed at select merchants, cash would then, Bloomberg reported. A client could then pay records using a mobile phone equipped with a near field communication (NFC) chip.
