In a statement to CrackBerry.com, Blackberry manufacturer said most equipment was still in the distribution channel and had not reached the customers.
The company is working to replace the affected tablets, he said.
The blog Engadget reported Saturday the defective batch was shipped to the supply chain Staples Inc. Office.
RIM had hoped to turn around his fortune with the launch of the Tablet, manual, but the product has won the complaints and poor reviews it was precipitated out until it was ready.
