SAN FRANCISCO - Internet Skype service cancelled its IPO now that it has agreed to be sold to Microsoft for $ 8.5 billion.
Served Skype that it was withdrawing its initial public offering of stock in a filing with regulators Friday.
The BPI is moot last week after Skype accepted the offer to purchase from Microsoft. Skype, currently held by the investment fund and eBay, filed his plans to make public last August.

About 170 million people around the world use Skype for video calls and phone chats.
Microsoft is considering weaving Skype into its e-mail Outlook software for mobile phones and xBox 360 video game console.
