Talks begin to wear a CDMA iPhone to China Telecom

The expansion of the smartphone in China market has been fast and furious, both for (AAPL) and Google (GOOG) Android operating system of Apple iPhone.

Currently, the iPhone is available from the Unicorn of China, the largest of the three telecommunications companies in the country, but now China Telecom is in talks with Apple to enable the countries even a CDMA phone version, according to a Reuters story.

China Telecom is the smallest of the three carriers in the country. China Unicorn has an exclusive agreement with Apple now, much as Apple and AT & T (T) had, but it expires this year, sort of China Telecom has engaged in negotiations with Apple to offer the phone as soon as it becomes available. The President of the company, Wang Xiaochu, confirmed that talks are going on after a meeting of the shareholders, but it would not enter into further details.

"We do not deny that we are in contact with the iPhone (Apple), but I can not comment on the progress," Wang told journalists.

During the meeting, shareholders approved a bond about 14 billion dollars, with some of this money goes towards the development of the CDMA in China iPhone. The iPhone from Verizon (VZ) also uses the CDMA radio technology, which is a different chipset than the iPhone AT & T, to make the Verizon network-compatible phone. Apple already has the CDMA iPhone version 4, it seems plausible that this would not take much work to bring the phone to China Telecom.

"From what we see now, we need money to acquire our parents CDMA network." But otherwise, we do not need to issue a huge obligations, said Wang amount.

Expansion of the iPhone in China could be part of the reason why Apple keeps on the iPhone 5 this summer, and potentially releasing a more gradual improvement called 4 iPhone, rather than an iPhone entirely new 5. Abandoning the 4 iPhone, which is basically the iPhone 4 but which would include a processor dual core the iPad 2 A5 (which itself would be a strong enough improvement), wouldn't can't hurt Apple too evil even if it could annoy large clientele will thinking. This is because Apple will easily be that make up the losses of iPhone upgrade, it would normally get with the iPhone 5 by adding the iPhone 4 to more markets in China.

China Telecom has approximately 103 million mobile subscribers, but only about 17.84 million subscribers 3 G, according to Reuters. But this is another large market to be drawn from the iPhone, and it is unlikely that Apple will stop with China Telecom when he could also negotiate with China Mobile, the other carrier in the country.

According to DigiTimes, the number of clients 3 G in China is expected to break the $ 62 million, with approximately 27 million of them carried by China Mobile.
