10 Major Apple iTunes disadvantages

The scourge of the existence of the user of any iDevice is a software barely usable Apple's iTunes.

Not only iTunes slow, inflated and usually awkward - especially on Windows computers - but must be constantly updates and maintenance, and regularly, it freezes and crashes.

Let's to look at 10 reasons why iTunes is annoying.

Constant updates

I am sick of the opening of iTunes and get prompt, "a new version of iTunes (8.2.1.0.4.1.5) is available." If you want to download now? "The frequent updates are normally a good thing (in a sense, anyway): they show that the software maker is software tweaking to make it the best it can be. But each iTunes "update", there you can download the whole program - not just a patch - and then restart all.

For the time 4,582,390th, I do not want Safari

Perhaps I could get on board with the constant iTunes updates if Apple did a not try push their Safari Web browser and its MobileMe software obsolete on me with each update. It was the first time, Mignon, but after 2000 updated? More - as Adobe with its offers of free toolbar - Apple surreptitiously checks automatically downloads, so that you have to manually uncheck if you do not want the software.

iTunes is awkward

iTunes is clumsy and slow, especially on PCs. opening iTunes immediately slows down all of my process and ramps up to my CPU usage to 50 percent. In addition, iTunes crashes on once per hour. And try to make whatever it is in iTunes - even plays a song or a playlist - while you import the music or to update an iDevice takes forever.

You cannot synchronize an iDevice with two libraries

Of course, I get that Apple seeks to reduce piracy and on which we have with the whole "only sync with a library", but if I have more than one computer? It is then all my music, but I can put only half on my iPod. Unless, of course, I use the home sharing to transfer my music from one computer to another. The only problem with this is that...

Home sharing Stinks

Home sharing would be a large entity... If it worked. Home sharing supposedly lets you share your music with up to five computers. Look at this claim. I put home sharing on five of my computers, and it was fine (it is true that, sometimes, I couldn't see some libraries, but most of the time it is fine).

Then I am has obtained a new computer and tried to introduce in the mixture by disabling the home share on one of my old computers. Suddenly, none of my computers could see none of the libraries of other computers. I essentially had to uninstall each unique instance of iTunes and restart everything to get to work.

Synchronization is the devil

There is no option to 'drag-and-drop' on iTunes. Instead, there is an option "manage manually music and videos" - but with it, you're always synchronization (just "selectively sync"). Synchronization really becomes a problem when you have more than one iDevice for library synchronization - especially if you have an iPhone and an iPad, because there is no option to "manually manage the apps".

You can add only a few songs at a time

Since the home sharing is so clumsy, I decided to save me some time by throwing a bunch of music on an external hard disk files and then manually import in iTunes. Well, it turns what, iTunes is really bad import non-CD music (in fact, this is pretty bad for the importation of CD music, too). Maybe this is a way of protection against piracy, but for any reason whatsoever, that I can't add more than five or six songs to iTunes using "Add Song".

You cannot delete songs from your library from a Playlist

Sometimes I note songs in one of these reading lists duplicate smart nifty and I want to get rid of one of them. But all I can do, is remove it from the list of reading, and not from my iTunes library. Instead, I enter in my library and find - and don't forget, it's a song in double, so make sure you that I find the person - and then get rid.

Occasionally, iTunes Forgets where is your library

This happens more often if your library is hosted on an external hard drive - but sometimes, he came to me when my library is stored on the internal hard drive of my computer. From time to time, I will return a song or a video, and iTunes will simply know where it is. Therefore, it will ask me hunting in the depths of my hard drive to find the file. UM... is not only your work, iTunes?

Everything is...Slow

At the time, that it took me to write this list, iTunes crashed once, tried to install Safari on my computer and it has not yet completed the backup and update my iPad.

iTunes Alternatives - they are there

The good news is that there are alternatives to iTunes - even if you are the proud owner of an iDevice. Be sure to read "" Apple iTunes Alternatives: make manage your easy music. ""
