Thursday, Amazon has extended its recovery program to include electronics, allowing consumers to send gadgets for the online retailer in exchange for a gift card - with the exception of e-readers, including the Kindle for Amazon.
As with its existing Exchange (available from his website of recovery) program the actual Exchange are managed by a third party merchant.
Users must meet the product eligibility criteria, such as ensuring that the product is exactly the product that Amazon is advertising for an exchange programme and ensure that the element is cancelled more than 7 days after the submission of an application online. Users assess the quality of electronics, including as"new," "Good" and "Acceptable", although the final decision is up to the Merchant Selects Amazon.
And, quite ironically, Amazon is apparently not allowing customers to exchange any e-reader, including her best selling Kindle model, which contains advertisements. The Kindle shows on the resumption of the Amazon site, but not the corner Barnes & Noble or any other e-reader, indeed. There are compressed fail, however.
Amazon representatives were not immediately available for comment.
Clients are free, to a first generation Apple 64 Wi-Fi/3 G iPad (up to $417.25), trade Samsung Wi - Fi Galaxy tab (up to $165.25) or phone Android HTC EVO 4 G (up to $209). Amazon sells the version of the iPad by electronic Pavilion for $647.99, the tab for $349.99 and the EVO 4 G via AmazonWireless.com for $119.99 (with a $200 termination rights early).
The recovery process allows users to print a shipping label and ship to Amazon for free, using a single box. The electronic gift card is added to the account of the user, within two working days said Amazon.
"The technology is constantly evolving and latest, best versions of the consumer electronics are introduced all the time," said Paul Ryder, vice President of electronics for Amazon.com, in a statement. "We want to give clients the opportunity to obtain the value of their used electronics." Hundreds of thousands of customers have already received millions of dollars in gift cards in other products of our program. "The electronic category is a natural extension and we are delighted to offer our clients more recovery options."
