SHANGHAI - Internet in China, users are hailing a student who claims threw a shoe at the architect of the country of so-called "great firewall" Internet controls during an aspect of the University.
Police in central China Friday refused to comment on the alleged attack on Fang Binxing in the Wuhan University by a student on line is identified only as "hanunyi."

Thousands of Chinese Internet users vented their anger at Fang in December when he opened a microblog on the Sina.com portal account, which operates a closely managed Twitter clone. Fang closed account within days.
"It is the enemy of all Internet users who are obliged to throughout the day, across the wall," said a typical comment, subsequently removed by web monitors.
Name of the Fang was blocked searches on the Internet in China, as he screamed off the coast of Sina.com.
Fang said the Global Times newspaper in an interview with rare in February that he had endured "dirty abuse... as a sacrifice for my country."
He defends the "great firewall" as a need urgent and said that the technology censorship must be even stronger.
"Drivers only obey the rules," said Fang, comparing web controls to traffic controls. "Citizens should therefore just play with what they have."
