RIM launches a new smartphone BlackBerry Bold (Reuters)

ORLANDO, Florida (Reuters) - Research In Motion unveiled an updated version of its smartphone BlackBerry Bold Monday and improvements to its new operating system as he tried to resume his heels after a profit warning.


RIM said the phone touch, available around the world in the summer on two important standards, would have more power than the torch, touted by RIM as a competitor of the iPhone in August when it updated its aging platform.

For years, businesses and Government agencies gave the BlackBerry to millions of workers in need of mobile access to applications in the workplace. But many now prefer using their own iPhone from Apple and iPads, as well, and a series of devices running on Google's Android platform.


While defending his Kingdom in the professional market, RIM is intensely to further advances in consumer markets. But he had difficulty in attracting the attention of the most demanding buyer, even if it has made progress in grabbing market share in emerging markets, mainly with less expensive equipment.
