SAN FRANCISCO - will Research In Motion uses the services of Microsoft's Bing on the new BlackBerry smartphones.
Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer made the announcement Tuesday at the annual Conference of world BlackBerry of RIM to the Director of Orlando, Fla. Bing Matt Dahlin describes the plans on the Bing Search Blog.
Dahlin said BlackBerrys shipped to wireless carriers will use Bing as its search and default map services. Bing will be the favorite for the BlackBerry browser search engine. Manual Tablet BlackBerry of RIM already uses Bing search and maps.
According to comScore Inc., Microsoft had about 14 percent of the US market research in March, while that Google had about 66%. But the growth of smartphones could present opportunities for the search engines like Bing to catch up.
