NEW YORK--Amazon.com Inc. Thursday, said that, after less than four years to sell e-books, it is now sold more of them than printed books.
Retailer online, said that since April 1, it has sold 105 e - books for each 100 printed books, including printed books for which there is no electronic edition. Comparison excludes free e-books, which could tip the balance in addition if they have been included.
Printed books include hardcover and paperback books. In July, Amazon said that e-book sales had lagged hardcover sales. It is now three times more than selling e-books as it did a year ago.
Analysts estimate that Amazon represents approximately two-thirds of the sales of e-book to the United States.
Amazon also said that the version most recent and the least expensive of its Kindle e-book reading device is the bestseller of the line, five weeks after its introduction. The Kindle with fresh specials $114 and poster ads mode ensures.
