Amazon does update Kindle without ink display E-Next-Gen (PC Magazine)

If you are holding out until the next generation Kindle comes out to buy the device, you can be on hold for some time. E Ink is not update its display, this year, which means that there will be many new e-readers until then.

Last week, Sri Peruvemba, Director of marketing for E Ink, stopped by the PCMag offices to talk about the latest technology of that production of the company. He said that e Ink is usually a cycle of updating about two years. Display black and white of the company is currently in its fourth generation, but the next generation will be published this year, he said.

E ink itself is not a new phenomenon. The company exists since 1997. Color E Ink, on the other hand, is much more recent, and it is a first generation product. The color screen is made possible by a filter which is placed on the screen black and white original. Although it is a color screen, the colors are muted and step as dynamic as you would see in a tablet with LCD.

Whereas the color screen is in its infancy and still of improvements to the display in black and white were not released, consumers probably won't see a color Kindle, or even a Kindle for Amazon soon update. In fact, he is editing suggest that amazon is preparing to Android-based Tablet.

Amazon recently made its debut Kindle with special offers, a grant program ad that strikes the price of the device up to $114. Rather than an incentive for new customers, it could be a test for a platform of advertising more large, which would allow Amazon to produce a tablet at more competitive prices, perhaps $250 or less, allowing him to take on very popular iPad of Apple 2.

Amazon has also opened its own Appstore Android recently. In addition, Amazon has unveiled a cloud music service that allows to store their music for free online and play via Mac, PC and phones and Android tablets (but not the iOS devices).

The pieces of the puzzle are falling into place for a tablet of Amazon. But also E Ink goes, Peruvemba sees the company as a thrust in the education sector. E Ink has opened a factory in China which produce prototypes for educational tablets, a goal that he thinks is suitable for E ink colors.

E Ink also reduced the rate of cooling for its display of 250 milliseconds only 50 milliseconds, which allows to run a full video. Interestingly, E Ink has also produced flexible screens, thus a foldable e-reader could be on the horizon of the next few years.

When the current Kindle started last summer, he appreciated many improvements with E Ink, including the best contrast, faster page turn, new custom fonts and smaller form factor. The Kindle has been the best-selling of all time Amazon element, so a greater improvement should be made with e ink until the company has produced a new version of the device. These improvements are coming, but not yet.
